M20 reopens at Junction 7

The M20 is now fully open and traffic delays are easing after a serious crash which left a man in hospital and debris strewn across the motorway.

The road is now getting back to normal on the the London-bound carriageway at Junction 7 for the A249.

At one stage queues stretched back for seven miles.

The accident happened at about 3.25am and two lanes were originally expected to remain blocked until at least 4pm.

A Kent Police spokesman said today, at the height of the delays: "Officers received the report of the collision involving two lorries at 3.25am on Friday 7 July 2017.

"A man has been taken to a London hospital."

The air ambulance attended and has now left the scene. A man was taken to a London hospital with head, thorax, abdomen and foot injuries. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The crash added to the delays caused by the thousands of visitors heading to the Kent County show.
