There was disappointment for a Kent dance group when they failed to win the public or the judges' vote in the semi-final of Britain's Got Talent.

Mandy Ellen School of Dance from Maidstone performed on the live show on ITV1 last night but despite praise from the three judges, did not win a place in Saturday night's final.

The 39 dancers, aged between 10 and 25, performed their routine to I Believe by Yolanda Adams, which promoted notoriously tough Simon Cowell to say: "I thought it started off OK and then the young kids came on and everything changed and then it became fantastic.

"I have got to say congratulations Mandy Ellen cos you did a terrific job."

In the end thirteen year old Andrew Johnston was the act voted through by the public and the judges chose The Cheeky Monkeys , who danced to Lollipop by Mika, to go through as well.
