Three arrested after man found dead at flats in Barming

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead at flats in Barming.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission has also been informed after it emerged the victim had been in contact with police before his death.

He was discovered at the block of flats in Woodford Road just before 10.30pm last night.

Police, ambulances and forensics teams were called to the scene. A police presence remains in the road this morning, and officers have been seen removing evidence bags from the property.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a private address in Woodford Road, Maidstone, by South East Coast Ambulance Service at 10.24pm on Tuesday 21 November 2017.

"A man was confirmed dead at the scene and the circumstances are being investigated.

"Officers are awaiting the findings of a post mortem and three people - two men and a woman from the Maidstone – have been arrested in connection with the death.

"They remain in custody as enquiries continue."
