Safe theft plot leads to three men from High Halden, in Ashford, Langley and Harrietsham being charged with conspiracy to burgle

Three men have been charged in connection with an alleged plot to steal a cash machine and safes.

Stephen Davenport, of Harrietsham, Anthony Pemberthy, of Langley, and Michael Turner, of High Halden, were arrested following raids on Monday.

The trio are accused of planning to steal the safes from post offices across the county and an ATM from a property in East Sussex.

A fourth man Dean Payne, 35, of Beacon Road, Lenham, has been charged with conspiracy to supply cannabis and production of cannabis.

Davenport, 53, of Fairbourne Lane, has been charged with conspiracy to burgle, conspiracy to supply cannabis and production of cannabis.

Pemberthy, 36, of Green Lane, and Turner, 58, of Tilden Close, have also been charged with conspiracy to burgle.

All four will appear before magistrates at Medway today.
