A UK Power Networks spokesperson said: "UK Power Networks is installing underground cables to provide a new electricity connection for a customer in Vinters Road, Maidstone, between April 9 and 13.

"The work was timed during the school holiday to minimise traffic impact. The road closure is needed to help ensure safety of our workers and the public, and a diversion route will be in place.

"We will complete the project as quickly as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
