Funeral for Osvaldas 'Ozzy' Rimša who passed away in Maidstone

A group of bikers have gathered to accompany their friend on one of his final journeys today.

The funeral of Osvaldas 'Ozzy' Rimša, who tragically passed away in a motorbike accident in Maidstone last month, takes place in London today.

The 27-year-old, of Florence Road, was killed in the collision on London Road at around 1.45pm on Friday, January 15.

A popular member of the motorcycle community, fellow bikers gathered at the Reca Community Biker Cafe in St Peter's Street to have one last ride along together with Ozzy - to The Albin Memorial Garden.

The cremation this morning is a respectfully quiet arrangement - bikers were welcome to escort the car leaving Maidstone at 6am.

Ozzy's friends also raised over £3,600 for his repatriation to Lithuania where he will be laid to rest.

The incident involved a black Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Mr Rimša’s black Yamaha R1.

The driver of the car, a man in his 50s, suffered minor injuries.

Several police vehicles were called to the scene alongside paramedics, crash investigators and more than a dozen officers.
