Maidstone twin bitten on face by dog in Jubilee Square

One of the well known Maidstone twins has been taken to hospital this afternoon after being bitten on the face by a dog.

The Dye sisters were sitting in Jubilee Square in the town centre when a border collie cross lashed out just after 1pm.

It is not known whether Christine or Helen, aged in their 50s, was injured but it is believed they both went to Maidstone Hospital in an ambulance.

Ms Dye's injuries are described as minor and she is expected to make a full recovery.

Kent Police were also in attendance although a spokesman said no offences had been committed.

It is believed Ms Dye approached the dog to stroke it without asking the owner.

The twins, who live in Broadway Heights, hit the headlines recently for their opposition to McDonald's bid to extend their drive-thru's licence to 24 hours.
