Two men have been arrested in connection with fuel theft in Maidstone.

The duo were taken into custody after police attended reports of people acting supiciously in Union Street, at about 4.40pm on Monday.

Officers recovered containers of what was believed to be stolen diesel.

The suspects include a 30-year-old from Maidstone, who has been arrested on suspicion of theft, and a 39-year-old man from Chatham.
