Crews tackle van fire on A20 Ashford Road, Harrietsham

A van fire caused traffic problems on the A20 this afternoon.

Kent Fire and Rescue were called just before 4pm to the coastbound carriageway of the A20 Ashford Road, Harrietsham.

Crews from one fire engine used a hose reel jet, a compressed air foam system and a breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames just before 4.30pm.

Kent Police are in attendance and have been contacted for comment.

Kent County Council Highways are advising drivers to allow extra time for their journeys.
