Part of the M20 motorway has been closed due to a vehicle fire.

Police temporarily held traffic as firefighters and highways officials dealt with the incident between J8 for Leeds Castle/Maidstone Services and J9 for Ashford/Faversham.

It happened at around 7.20pm and long queues are being reported in the area.

It is understood the fire has been put out and the carriageway has partially reopened.
