Mereworth: Woman dies in London hospital after suffering serious injuries in Malling Road crash

A woman in her sixties has died in hospital after suffering serious injuries in a crash.

She was injured in a collision between a white Ford Transit van and a red Peugeot 206 car near the junction with The Street in Malling Road, Mereworth, at 3.10pm yesterday.

She was airlifted to a London hospital but died shortly after arrival.

A man was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit and was also taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the van as it travelled from Hop Farm roundabout in Paddock Wood, along the A228 and the A26, to the scene of the incident.
