Police have confirmed a woman in her 60s died at the Travelodge hotel in central Maidstone.

Officers were called by South East Coast Ambulance Service at 2.05pm yesterday after concern was raised for her welfare.

A police spokesman said: "The death is not being as suspicious and next of kin have been informed. A police report is being prepared for the coroner."

The hotel declined to comment on the incident when approached.
