An elderly woman had to be taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation after a blaze at her home on Saturday.

The fire at the property in Offham Road, West Malling, at 12.50pm, left the house badly smoke-logged.

Firefighters wearing breathing aparatus fought the blaze, which was mainly around the conservatory and a rear bedroom.

Fire crews from Larkfield were at the scene for just over an hour.
