Midfielders Alex Brown and Dan Stubbs have until next week to decide if they are staying at Maidstone United.

Both players have offers on the table but former Gillingham man Brown would like to return to full-time football while money is the stumbling block with Stubbs.

Stones manager Jay Saunders said: “I don’t want to put any pressure on them but if they haven’t decided by the middle of next week then we’ll move on and look at other players if they become available.

“Browny has had offers of trials from Conference and Conference South clubs. It’s whether he wants to take the gamble or stay here, be settled and get a good full season under his belt.

“That’s what he needs because he had a couple of stop-start years at Gillingham before joining us. Hythe are interested in Stubbsy but we have a wage structure here and we won’t go over it.

“I’ve made players fair offers in line with what I think they’re worth."
