Maidstone United's FA Cup first round replay is a 2,226 sell-out after League 2 Stevenage shifted their remaining tickets on Tuesday morning.

A trip to Wrexham awaits if United pull off an upset in front of the BT cameras at the Gallagher Stadium on Thursday night (7.45pm).

Stevenage boss Graham Westley is a critic of 3G pitches and while Stones insist fears are unfounded, they’re happy to play on his doubts.

Stones manager Jay Saunders said: “I’m sure they won’t be looking forward to it and Graham Westley’s been moaning about the pitch.

“I know they train on 3G but a game is different.

“Let’s be honest, all league clubs go into games against non-league clubs thinking they have enough to win - and they should have - but we were decent in the first game.

“He knows we gave them a tough time and that it will be a difficult game at our place.

“The crowd are close to the pitch, there won’t be much support from Stevenage and there will be people by his dugout.

“A lot of managers talk about our pitch before they come here.

“I don’t think he’s making excuses but I don’t think he fancies coming here and I don’t see why he would."
