Birthday boy Charley Robertson completed Maidstone's record victory at the Gallagher Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The midfielder, celebrating his 18th birthday, scored the final goal as United crushed Hampton & Richmond 7-2 in a superb match.

Victory moves them up to second place in the Ryman League Premier Division, a point behind new leaders Dulwich Hamlet.

Stones conceded two bad goals, including the opener after two minutes when Dave Tarpey went through unopposed to give Hampton the lead.

But you'd be hard-pushed to find anyone leaving the Gallagher worrying about that having witnessed such a superb attacking display, with United's goals scored by seven different players.

It helped that Hampton came to play, unlike so many visiting teams who sit back and make themselves hard to break down.

Zac Attwood ran into the box and fired across goalkeeper Rodney Chiweshe for the equaliser on 13 minutes, then Alex Brown's 20-yard strike went in off the post five minutes later.

Youngster Dan Parkinson was caught out as Joe Turner made it 2-2 on 31 minutes but United went back in front six minutes before half-time with Alex Flisher's drive from the edge of the box.

Stones made the perfect start to the second half when Frannie Collin's effort from outside the area on 47 minutes swerved inside the post at the last second.

It caught out Chiweshe but without his saves from Collin, Attwood and Flisher, United could easily have had double figures.

Jack Parkinson met a corner from Flisher to send number five into the roof of the net after 57 minutes.

Stones continued to attack and wrapped up the win with two late goals.

Michael Phillips finished the rebound on 84 minutes after the keeper parried Collin's shot from another Flisher cross.

Two minutes later, Robertson ran on to a through ball and stabbed the ball past Chiweshe for United's seventh.
