Maidstone midfielder Simon Johnson is looking forward to facing former club Eastbourne Borough

Simon Johnson won’t be shy in celebrating if he scores the winner against his former club.

Johnson was an Eastbourne Borough regular for six years before joining Maidstone in the summer.

The midfielder is yet to start but is hopeful of making his full debut when he returns to his old club with United in Vanarama National League South on Saturday.

He left on good terms but intends to celebrate if he helps Maidstone win.

Johnson said: “I’ve got a celebration that I’ve always done – it’s quite funny.

“We’ll have to see but if I score the winning goal I won’t be able to hold back.

“It’ll get me a fine from the Maidstone boys but I like to make it fun for the crowd.

“It’s going to be quite weird going into the away dressing room, which isn’t very nice.

“I always had good relationships with everyone at Eastbourne. A few fans might give me stick but you get that everywhere.

“My friends and family are all from the area and I’ve got quite a few people coming to watch.”
