Bugiel added a late second but it’s United who will face Charlton or Folkestone in the final.

Maidstone made eight changes from the side who drew 2-2 at Hayes Lane in the league on Saturday, while the visitors field a completely different XI.

It was still a strong side United team and they largely dominated the first half, creating a string of decent chances.

It had something of a training game feel to it with the Stones given plenty of time to pop the ball about.

Jack Richards was prominent in the first half, with three good opportunities falling his way in and around the edge of the area.

All three were saved by keeper Max Huxter, including a fine stop towards the end of the half.

Reece Prestedge fired wide on the volley from Darius Osei’s clever pass when well placed to score and Osei rolled a first-time strike wide of the far post as Maidstone bossed it.

The opening goal came in the 29th minute with Stones breaking through Turgott who went on a long run down the left before laying on a tap-in for Sam-Yorke.

Bromley’s best chance of the first half fell to Kristian Campbell but he couldn’t hit the target.

Maidstone went two up 10 minutes into the second half, Sam-Yorke with a diving header from Seth Twumasi’s cross.

Bromley were back in the game in the 63rd minute when Jack Paxman’s poor backpass gifted the ball straight to Bugiel who ran through and fired past Lee Worgan.

Paxman made up for the error with a lovely sliderule pass to Turgott as Maidstone went 3-1 up on 70 minutes.

And he was at it again three minutes later, setting up Osei for Maidstone’s fourth.

Another error led to Bromley’s second goal in the 80th minute as Prestedge’s backpass sold Worgan short and left Bugiel with a simple finish.
