Former Charlton under-21 captain Bradley Jordan has joined Maidstone.

The midfielder, who has had loan spells at Notts County and Forest Green, was a free agent after being released by the Addicks.

United manager Jay Saunders said: “I spoke to Damien Matthew at Charlton and he had nothing but good things to say.

“I didn’t know this but he went on trial at Gillingham and they were close to taking him.

“It was only the fact they had Jake Hessenthaler and Bradley Dack at a similar age that stopped them.

“He was also at Exeter over pre-season and they liked him but were looking at a month-by-month deal, which wasn’t ideal.

“He came on against Witham and you could see his quality. He had good touches and was confident on the ball.”
