Maidstone's lead at the top of the Ryman League Premier Division is down to just five points after a late goal cost them all three against Witham Town.

Jay May went closest for Maidstone in a quiet first 15 minutes, before Lee Worgan was called into action at the other end to deny the away side who had started to gain more possession as the half went on.

However, right on half-time May struck to give Maidstone the lead in front of a Valentine's Day crowd of 1,865.

And it looked like it was going to stay that way until John Watson netted an 88th-minute equaliser for Town.

The result leaves Maidstone five points clear of Dulwich Hamlet in second but Margate, whose game at Met Police was postponed, are seven points back with a game in hand.
