A young Maidstone side were beaten 5-1 by Charlton's development squad in the quarter-finals of the Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday night.

Stones handed a debut to new signing George Porter but the tie was effectively over after 19 minutes with the Addicks 3-0 up.

They scored three times in four minutes through Karlan Ahearne-Grant (15 and 19) and Harry Gerard (17) to take control at the Gallagher Stadium.

Ben Greenhalgh, one of the few senior players on show, pulled a goal back in the final minute of the first half with a deflected strike from 12 yards.

Ollie Muldoon scored Charlton fourth's with a free-kick on 59 minutes, then Ahearne-Grant completed his hat-trick three minutes later.

Charlton will play Ramsgate in the semi-finals.

Maidstone: Godmon, Kempton (Thomas 61mins), Rose, Coyle, Kitt, Brown, Hansen (Sutherland 46mins), Jordan, Akrofi, Greenhalgh, Porter (King 70mins). Subs not used: Rodgers, Reed.
