Maidstone United hoping injured players regain fitness as they bid to improve their home form starting against Solihull Moors

Maidstone are hoping for good news on the injury front as they set about improving their National League home form.

Stones have won only once at the Gallagher and on Saturday meet last season’s National North champions Solihull Moors.

Alex Flisher has a huge bruise down his calf following last weekend’s win at Torquay. He had treatment on Tuesday night and if the bruise settles he should be OK to play.

Stones are also waiting on defender Jamie Coyle (calf) but Anthony Acheampong (hamstring) won’t be risked.

Dan Sweeney has a knock while Jack Evans went off with a shin injury in the Kent Senior Cup at Bromley on Tuesday night.

If Evans doesn’t recover, Stones could turn to free agent Seth Twamusi who filled in at centre-half in Stones’ 2-1 defeat at Hayes Lane.

Boss Jay Saunders said: “I think Ach is the real one we’ve got to get right. We rushed him back to play Guiseley and he probably wasn’t fit and that’s going to knock him back a little bit more. Hopefully, everyone else will be OK.”

Maidstone’s only home win came against Braintree in August. They’re 11th in the league on the back of four away victories and Saunders said: “We need to start picking up on our home points.

“We’re playing better teams this year. That’s the long and short of it and if you make a mistake, you get punished."

Maidstone travel to Yemi Odubade’s former club Eastleigh on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
