There will be no holding back from Maidstone United in their biggest game of the season.

Boss Jay Saunders is promising to go on the attack when Ryman League Premier Division leaders Stones go to second-placed Margate on Tuesday night (7.45pm).

A draw would be a useful result at the big-spending title favourites.

But with Saunders' men five points clear at the top, they are backing themselves to take the game to Gate at Hartsdown Park.

Saunders said: "I won't ever go into a game trying to shut up shop for a draw.

"Don't get me wrong, if we get through in the FA Cup and pull Man United away then I might have to think about it but, realistically, every game we go into we're trying to win.

"Margate is a big game but it's just another game.

"By the time we go there we'll be 13 games in and the league's not won on 13 games.

"I know it's an old saying but there's going to be lots of twists and turns."

Saunders also believes it's too early to say the league title is a two-horse race between Maidstone and Margate.

He added: "I think it's being a bit disrespectful to say we're the two best teams in the league.

"There's other good teams - the likes of Hendon, Billericay, Dulwich and Leiston - but we just have to worry about what we're doing.

"I don't think it matters who wins on Tuesday. I can't see the league being won or lost after 13 games.

"I might be completely wrong but there's a hell of a long way to go."
