Maidstone United sign former MK Dons goalkeeper Andy McCorkell

Maidstone United have signed a new goalkeeper.

Andy McCorkell, once on the books at MK Dons, has joined as cover for ever-present captain Lee Worgan.

The Stones have been looking for a back-up keeper, with McCorkell's arrival allowing them to send young Tommy Taylor on loan to Hollands & Blair in Southern Counties East.

The new man, a former Northern Ireland under-19 international, was on the bench for the 1-1 draw against Solihull Moors and time will tell whether he earns anything long-term.

Boss Jay Saunders said: "Andy's signed as cover for Worgs.

"He was at MK Dons and I think he's had a spell at Hendon.

"It's just one where he's come in and signed a form and he's going to try and earn himself a deal.

"We've just sort of said come in and try and earn yourself a deal.

"He's been training with us and we'll have more of a look at him before anything's agreed."
