Maidstone United to unveil artist impressions and plans for club's new north end stand

Maidstone fans can get a glimpse of the plans for the club's new stand next week.

Co-owner Terry Casey and chief executive Bill Williams will present artist impressions of the new stand at the north end of the Gallagher Stadium at 7.30pm on Thursday, June 30 in the Spitfire Lounge.

When completed the capacity at the Gallager will be 4,200 – more than meeting the National League's requirement.

The stand will accommodate approximately 1,750 standing spectators and features include flexible seating, facilities for disabled spectators, toilets, food outlets and new entrances and exits, although not all of these will be built immediately for financial reasons.

Costs for the stand are estimated to be between £600,000 and £750,000, and when added to the investment in a new 3G pitch the club's outlay could be £1million over the next 12 months.

During the evening there will be also be an opportunity to find out about Stand up for the Stones – a new fundraising campaign where fans can show their support for the club’s new stand project by making a donation towards the cost.

Anyone making a pledge can leave a personal message on the website.

Donations of more than £20 will enable donors to appear in a special photo mosaic and donations of £50 or more will allow donors to also appear on an honours board to be erected in a prominent position in the club.
