Maidstone United release Magnus Okuonghae and Darius Osei

Magnus Okuonghae and Darius Osei are the latest players to leave Maidstone.

The pair have been released by Jay Saunders and follow Joe Anderson, Reece Prestedge and Delano Sam-Yorke out the door.

Centre-half Okuonghae made 34 appearances after joining towards the end of United's first year in the National League but finished this season on loan at Welling in National South.

Stones boss Saunders said: “Mags has been first class throughout his time here.

"He came in around the time we went on that good run at the end of last season and was an experienced head that we needed in the back line.

“He was a pleasure to have around the club and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Forward Osei joined in January after leaving League 1 Oldham, scoring on his debut against Heybridge in the FA Trophy and going on to make 11 appearances.

Saunders said: “It was a big upheaval for Darius after leaving Oldham and fair play to him for moving away from family and friends to come down south and join us.

“He’s a great lad and I am sure a club closer to home will come in for him over the summer.”
