Tonbridge boss Tommy Warrilow admits some of his summer signings haven’t worked out and he’s heading back into the transfer market.

Monday’s 4-0 defeat at St Albans saw Angels crash out of the FA Trophy, leaving Skrill South survival as their sole focus this season.

Warrilow wasn’t entirely displeased with the performance against what he felt were a strong St Albans side, but he accepts personnel changes are needed.

He said: “People are saying to me ‘you signed these players’. OK, I got it wrong. It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last. But what I won’t do is sit back and let it carry on.

“I was going to bring a couple of boys in before the Trophy but they wouldn’t have been allowed to play in the Trophy.

“But now that’s gone, so I want to adjust in two or three positions. I’m looking at permanent deals because I’m trying to bring stability.”

Tonbridge, who stunned high-flying Eastleigh 2-1 in their last league game, are two points above the relegation zone but they have games in hand over all the sides around them.

They are away to Hayes & Yeading on Saturday, with Ryan Watts (hamstring) expected to be fit but fellow midfielder David Ijaha is suspended.
