Goalkeeper Lee Worgan wants to finish his career at Maidstone United.

Worgan made his 100th appearance for Stones in last weekend’s 3-0 win over Billericay.

The man rated by boss Jay Saunders as the best keeper in the Ryman League Premier Division is contracted until the end of next season, but hopes to be at the Gallagher Stadium until he retires.

Worgan, 31, said: “I want to play for Maidstone for as long as possible. It’s a fantastic club and I love it here.

"I can’t see myself playing anywhere else. I’ll be here as long as the club want me."

Worgan, who will line-up for leaders Stones at struggling Harrow on Saturday, knew he was closing in on 100 appearances but only realised he had reached the milestone when he counted up after the Billericay match.

Saunders, who signed Worgan from Tonbridge, said: “Worgs has been brilliant ever since he came here.

“You go and watch someone but you never realise just how good they are until you sign them and get to work with them every week. He’s the best keeper in the league."
