Lee Worgan had Maidstone down as champions months ago.

The Stones keeper celebrated United's Ryman League Premier Division success with team-mates on Saturday having always known Jay Saunders' side would win the title.

He said: "Three or four months ago I wrote on the board in the dressing room 'Ryman League winners'.

"I think Jay scrubbed it off but I just knew it would happen. I had faith in everyone.

"It's incredible. It's everything the club deserve, everything we deserve.

"We've been the most consistent team and if you're top of the league after 46 games, you deserve to be champions.

"I know a few of the Hendon boys and fair play to them.

"I thought they were going to peter out but they kept on and Gary McCann's got that as a manager and he's got that in his teams."
