Firefighters tackled car fire near Junction 3 on M20

A blaze which destroyed a vehicle on the M20, started in its engine.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the London-bound carriageway, just before Junction 3 for the M26 near Wrotham Heath.

The incident happened just after 5.30pm on Monday. Two lanes had to be closed.

Kent Fire and Rescue said: “Two fire engines attended and crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.”

There are no reported casualties.
