Travellers have moved on to a family park sparking complaints from members of the public.

Six unauthorised caravans moved on to Cobtree Manor Park, in Aylesford, by the play area and cafe yesterday morning.

Maidstone Borough Council is dealing with the situation and will take the appropriate action.

A spokesman for the authority said: "We are assessing the situation to identify a way forward.”

Kent Police have also been made aware of the situation but no offences have been reported.

Visitors to the Forstal Road site were outraged to learn that they will face parking charges after a new visitor centre opens in May.
