Fire in Borough Green

A family escaped unharmed after a fire broke out in their home.

Fire fighters were called to an address in Fairfield Road, Borough Green shortly after 12.30am after a blaze started on the ground floor.

Fortunately, those in the house were alerted to the flames by a smoke alarm.

The fire is believed to be accidental.

Following the incident, Kent Fire and Rescue service is advising the public to fit smoke alarms on each floor of their property and ensure they are tested regularly to make sure they work.
