Firefighters were called to Larkfield after a fire broke out in the roof of a home.

Two crews rushed to the semi-detached house in Maple Close just before 1.30pm, where they used water from a nearby hydrant to extinguish the flames.

When the fire was out the firefighters stripped the outside of the roof to deal with areas which were still hot.

They left the scene after an hour.

It is not yet known how the blaze started.
