M20 driver who died after becoming trapped in his burning van named as Tomasz Kedziora

A man who died trapped in his burning van on the M20 has been named two months on as Tomasz Kedziora.

The Polish national's Fiat Ducato caught fire after it ploughed into the back of a roadworks lorry parked on the hard shoulder between junction 4 for Leybourne and 3 for Borough Green on Thursday, January 28.

The motorway was closed in both directions while emergency services, including an air ambulance descended on the scene.

The crash left motorists stranded for more than an hour with witnesses reporting flames as high as eight storeys.

An inquest opened into the death in February heard that Mr Kedziora - thought to be in his late 50s but then not yet formally identified - had died from smoke inhalation. He had also suffered severe burns.

The inquest was adjourned until May 17.
