M20 crash between junction 5 and 4 causes delays

Motorists are being warned the recovery of a lorry which overturned on the M20 could take several more hours.

Major delays were reported after the HGV overturned on the London-bound carriageway near junction 4 for the A228 at Leybourne and Snodland just before 9.30am.

At 7pm, two lanes remained closed.

Queues have been trailing back to Junction 7.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "We were called to a single vehicle collision involving a lorry on the M20 London-bound, near junction 4, at 9.23am on Sunday 20 August 2017.

"At present no injuries have been reported however the lorry is blocking part of a slip road."

Meanwhile, police have reported that all lanes at Junction 4 which were blocked because of another accident, have now cleared.
