Crash involving three lorries on M26 before junction 2A for Wrotham

A motorway crash involving three lorries caused major delays for drivers this morning.

Part of the M26 near junction 2A for Wrotham was shut after the smash, which happened just after 4.30am.

The road had fully reopened by 8.30am.

Kent Highways said clearance work has now been completed and all lanes are available.

Delays on the M20 Londonbound which extended to J8 before Maidstone have now cleared.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 4.35am to reports of a collision involving three lorries on the M26 westbound J2A and M25.

"There are no reported injuries. Traffic is using the hard shoulder and congestion is expected."

Arriva Kent has warned the incident is causing major delays to services around the Maidstone area.
