Terence Hughes, of East Peckham, in court after allegedly stealing antiques from a Tonbridge home

An East Peckham man will stand trial for allegedly stealing an antique knife and a South American Indian blanket.

Terence Hughes, of William Luck Close, is accused of stealing the 1866 French bayonet and the cream and brown covering as well as two decorative concrete planters.

The items were taken from a property in Tonbridge belonging to Ronald Mayne between January 2012 and February last year.

The 61-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charge at a Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court hearing last Wednesday and will appear at the same venue on July 8 for a trial.
