Power cut in Wateringbury causes traffic lights to cut out on A26 Tonbridge Road

A power cut caused traffic problems as lights on a busy junction were down.

Around 209 residents in the Wateringbury area were without power due to an issue with a generator - it's unrelated to a planned power cut which is due to take place tomorrow.

The traffic lights on the A26 Tonbridge Road junction with Bow Road were not working as a result of this.

A KCC engineer attended the site and found there was no power.

UK Power Networks worked to restore the power which came back on just after 9am.

A spokesman said: "Power was interrupted to 209 customers in the Bow Road area of Wateringbury at 4.52am and was restored again just after 9am.

"We’re sorry for any traffic delays this caused with the traffic lights at the crossroads and fixed the problem as quickly as possible."
