Larkfield: A20 London Road closed in both directions

Police are appealing for information after a cyclist suffered serious head and neck injuries on the A20.

Andrew Chapman, 52, collided with a white Fiat 595 Turismo on London Road at the Lunsford Lane junction, in Larkfield, at 10.30am yesterday.

The Southeastern train conductor, of Plover Road, suffered three hairline fractures in his skull, three in his neck and a dropped shoulder and was airlifted to King's College Hospital, London, where he remains in a stable condition.

His wife, Karen, said he will make a full recovery but will be in a neck brace for two months.

She offered heartfelt thanks to passersby who stopped and helped him as he lay on the road.
