Schoolgirl assaulted in alleyway between Kingfiser Road and Woodpecker Road, larkfield

Detectives have issued a description of a suspect following a reported sexual assault in Larkfield.

On Monday a schoolgirl was approached by a man asking for directions when she was walking in an alleyway between Kingfisher Road and Woodpecker Road.

The victim dropped an item on the floor, the man allegedly picked this up and then assaulted her.

Following the incident, which happened at around 4.40pm, police have been making house to house checks and reviewing CCTV from the area.

The man is described as white and aged in his early 20s, with dark hair.

He was wearing thick framed glasses, smart work trousers and a jumper over a white collared shirt.

Detective Inspector Garry Cook said: "This would have been a very distressing incident for the victim, who has told us this man also made comments to her as she tried to walk away.

"Offences of this nature are thankfully very rare and we are treating it as an isolated incident. If you saw anything suspicious or have any information which may assist our investigation please get in touch."
