Aylesford: New Christmas tree to be planted on Station Road

Villagers are invited to come together tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon to plant a new Christmas tree in the place of one which was stolen.

Residents of Aylesford were shocked to discover last week that a tree which had been planted on public land at the junction of Forstal Road and Station Road had been chopped down and stolen at some point on Saturday, December 2.

The tree had been planted six years ago, and was often decorated over the festive season.

The new tree has been bought by Piri Raj, owner of The Bush pub on Rochester Road, and everyone in the village is welcome at the planting, which will start at 2pm.

People are also welcome to bring along a decoration to hang on the tree once it is in place.
