River Medway towpath works: Aylesford to Allington stretch reopened

A stretch of towpath between Aylesford and Allington has been reopened as part of the latest phase of a project to develop the river bank.

The stretch, which runs between the back of Harley Davidson on Forstal Road and the lock, is now fully accessible to the public having undergone a facelift, with a cycle path built.

As part of the £2.5million KCC-led scheme improvement works are underway on the entire route from Aylesford to Barming.
