Tributes paid to Anne Moloney, vice Chair of Snodland Town Council

A much-loved and popular member of Snodland Town Council has sadly died.

Anne Moloney, the authority's vice chair, spearheaded a number of campaigns and was well known for her passion, enthusiasm and kindness for the area.

Tracey Crouch, MP for Chatham and Aylesford, paid her respects on Facebook. She wrote: "Desperately sad to hear that long time Snodland Borough and Town Councillor Anne Moloney has passed away.

She added: "She never stopped fighting for the town or for the residents. She was well known around the town and respected by many across the political spectrum.

"Right to the end she was sending me emails with an instruction to do something and getting her latest leaflet printed. I'm sure she will be much missed. Rest in peace Anne."

Cllr Moloney was a well-known campaigner for local issues and a Conservative Party member for more than 30 years.

A town stalwart, the former party agent, is remembered for her feisty spirit and tenacity.

Despite suffering lung cancer for three years she was out canvassing just last week in the constituency.
