Ditton: Arrests made after police spot van full of furniture 'stolen from Maidstone pub'

Two men have been arrested in Ditton after police spotted a van containing furniture believed to have been stolen from a Maidstone pub.

Officers were patrolling in London Road at 8.45am on Monday when they saw a suspicious vehicle and followed it to a nearby petrol station.

On inspection, the rear of the van was found to contain property including items of furniture and bottles of cooking oil that were suspected to have been stolen from a pub in Maidstone earlier that morning.

The occupants, two men aged 29 and 42 from Edmonton, London were arrested on suspicion of burglary and the van with its contents was seized.

The men were subsequently released under investigation.
