Air ambulance called to former Civic Centre near River Medway in Strood after man injured

A man suffered severe head injuries after a fall in Strood.

Emergency services responded to a call that a man had been injured in near the former Civic Centre at 7.25pm on Sunday.

He was taken to a specialist neurological unit at King's College Hospital, London.

Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service and the air ambulance attended and were later joined by police officers at 7.47pm.

A police spokesman said the man was taken to a London hospital for treatment and that no offences had been reported.

The air ambulance landed at a nearby recreation ground and the crew accompanied the patient to hospital by road.
