Another arrest after Chatham alley rape in Corkwell Street

A fourth man has been arrested in connection with the rape of a woman in an alleyway.

The man, who is 22 but has not been named, was arrested in connection with the early morning attack which is said to have happened in an alley off Corkwell Street, Chatham, on Sunday, July 28.

The woman reported to police she had been raped while on her way home from a night out.

Another man, Marcin Gorniak, 30, of High Street, Chatham, has already been charged with rape in relation to the incident.

Polish-born Gorniak, has been remanded in custody and is due to enter a plea at Maidstone Crown Court, on Thursday, November 14.

Two other men, both from Chatham, were also arrested in connection with the incident.

One, a 24-year-old, who was initially bailed, has now been released without charge.

The other man, 19, has also been bailed until Monday, October 14, pending further inquiries, as has the 22-year-old.
