A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following a police chase through Gillingham.

Shortly before 8.30pm on Friday, officers attempted to stop a black Vauxhall Astra with defective brake lights in the Victoria Street area.

The vehicle did not pull over so police pursued it.

The driver abandoned the vehicle but a man was later arrested in West Street.

The man, who is also suspected of having no licence or insurance, has been bailed until Sunday, April 23.
