He made a big impression on Simon Cowell – now Paul Burling, one of Medway’s all-time favourite panto stars, has announced he'll appear in Cinderella at The Central Theatre this Christmas.

The comedy impressionist last appeared on the Chatham stage in 2010, having shot to nationwide fame as one of the finalists on ITV's Britain's Got Talent.

Watched by an estimated 12 million viewers, he thrilled the audience and judges with a selection of his celebrity send-ups, including Alan Carr, Rodney Trotter and Harry Hill - who personally phoned Paul to congratulate him on his appearance.

Since then Paul has appeared in his own Christmas special and appeared at the O2 and Wembley as part of the Britain's Got Talent national tour.

Paul has now been signed by top panto producers Evolution Productions to play Buttons in this year's show. He'll be sharing the stage with EastEnders favourite Cheryl Fergison, who recently left Albert Square having won the hearts of millions as the loveable Heather Trott.

Speaking ahead of his return to Chatham, Paul said: “It's been an amazing two years since Britain's Got Talent, but I've always loved doing panto, and The Central Theatre is still one of my favourite places to perform.

"The audiences here have always been fantastic and I'm especially thrilled to be playing alongside Cheryl Fergison. I might have to include my Phil Mitchell impression, just for her!”

Producer Paul Hendy added: “We're really excited to have Paul back in the Chatham panto again, as he's not only great to work with but has always gone down a storm with audiences here.

"And with Cheryl Fergison leading the cast this year's show is really going to have fantastic all round family appeal.”
