Busy night for Medway firefighters called to Beaconsfield Road in Chatham, Lock Street in Gillingham and Middle Street in Brompton

It was a busy night for firefighters from Medway with a fence on fire, a bike on fire and a clothes bank on fire.

Crews got a call at 9.45pm to reports that a fence was alight on Beaconsfield Road in Chatham.

The flames were quickly dealt with.

Just before 1am, crews were then called to Lock Street in Gillingham after a clothing bank had got up in flames.

The bank was filled with donated clothes and firefighters put out the blaze with a hose reel jet and a hydrant.

Finally, at 4.42am crews were called to Middle Street in Brompton after receiving a call that a motorbike was on fire.

It is believed to have been stolen and there was no one with the bike when firefighters arrived.

Police have been informed.
