Traffic builds up at Blue Bell Hill near Chatham and Rochester after car fire

A car fire caused tailbacks near the busy Blue Bell Hill junction tonight.

The north-bound stretch of the A229 was blocked at about 6pm and traffic was queueing after a car fire on the M2 at J3 for Chatham and Rochester.

No-one is thought to have been injured in the blaze, which was put out by Medway firefighters.

The traffic was clearing by about 7pm after the seriously damaged car was recovered.
